Kher Jr wants work to speak for itself
Buzz in the industry has it that director J.P. Dutta is eager to cast Sikander Kher in the next project that he plans to embark on soon. But ask Sikander and he chooses to remain tightlipped about it. Insiders insist that Dutta has liked Sikander and does plan to cast him in his next venture. Sikander simply says, “It is too early to say anything.”
The topic then veers to Woodstock Villa that marks his debut as an actor. The film also marks the debut of Neha Oberoi, daughter of producer Dharam Oberoi. “My first film was a learning experience for me. I have a long way to go as an actor,” he says. But being the son of stalwarts like Anupam Kher and Kirron Kher the expectations are definitely high and Kher Jr’s answer takes you by surprise.
“I welcome expectations. They bring the best out of me. I am not troubled by them. I know that my acting skills will be compared to them, but over a period of time, I have to create an identity of my own. And it is then that they will be known as my parents and I am sure that will be a proud moment for them as well. Also my parents have always encouraged me. They have helped me pursue my endeavours and have told me that they are always there for me, no matter what. I am eternally indebted to them,” he says.
Sikander adds, “My parents have also warned me that acting is not an easy task and that I have to be prepared to work hard. And that is what I am doing with utmost sincerity. But I don’t want to say anything right now. I want Woodstock Villa to speak for itself.”
