Himesh has had enough of his status as a one-man music industry. At least for now. He wants to introduce at least one new singer in each one of his forthcoming starrers.

Himesh feels he owes it to the industry. “I think I must give new talent to the music industry because even I was a newcomer once. And fresh untried talent always works since my music usually caters to a younger audience which is always on the look-out for fresh unconventional voices.”

For Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh Mudh Mudh Ke which is a love triangle, Himesh intends to introduce new singing talent for the two leading ladies Niharika Singh and Jennifer Kotwal. “I came across some mind-blowing female voices while I was judging Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. I’ll be using these for M2KNDM2K”. On Friday, Himesh Reshammiya recorded his 75th song.

Sushmita Sen says she tied up with Ketan Desai’s MKD Productions for her dream project “Rani Laxmibai”, which she will direct and produce, because she needed someone she could trust and knew the nitty gritty of making films.

Ketan, son of well-known filmmaker Manmohan Desai, will serve as the executive producer on the historical film and Sushmita can barely contain her excitement at the collaboration.

“It would’ve been impossible for me to look into all the nitty gritty. I had to work with people whom I can trust implicitly. Ketan is an extremely capable and clued in man,” Sushmita, who plays the title role in the film, said. (Read the article)

Fresh from the astounding success of Anees Bazmi’s Welcome, Anil Kapoor has taken a straight cultural leap into Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire. After shooting portions of it in Agra, the auteur director Danny Boyle is currently shooting the rest of the film in Mumbai.

Anil Kapoor is characteristically charged, “Normally when I start any film, I get as nervous as a schoolboy on his first day of school. But Slumdog Millionaire is special on many counts. It’s my first international film after 35 years in the industry. Though I’ve worked with Shekhar Kapoor it was before he became an international filmmaker. During the Ladakh shoot of Heroes veteran actor Mithun Chakravarthy cooked food for the cast of the film. Tarzan boy Vatsal Seth, who is part of the film, gave us the inside details.

Says Vatsal, “The climate was minus 3 degree Celsius and in that cold Mithunda cooked food for two days for the entire cast of the film. One day he cooked bhindi ki sabzi, steamed rice and it was so delicious and on the second day aaloo ki sabzi and roti.”

Praising Mithunda, he says, “It was amazing that such a great actor cooked food for us without any hesitation. Not only me - Salman Bhai, Sunny Deol every one enjoyed the food. The whole crew had a great time in Ladakh and we did not come to know how one month passed by.” (Read the article)
