Amongst a number of top Bollywood stars making special appearances, in Shah Rukh Khan acted and produced Om Shanti Om, Amitabh Bachchan too is featuring in one scene.

This scene was canned during the actual Filmfare Awards Nite in February earlier this year at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai.

Our khabroo, who got a sneak peak of 2007’s most awaited release, reveals, “It is a scene that comes towards the end reels of the film, wherein the King Khan, who plays a Bollywood star of today’s times, is shown competing for the Best Actor’s Award. The Hindi film industry’s who’s who is shown present at this function. During this scene the industrywalas are shown discussing who will win the Best Actor Award. When someone asks Hrithik Roshan (he plays himself) who shall it be, he replies – Its Me. Similarly, when Hema Malini is asked the same question she says – Dharamji and when finally some one asks the Big B himself – Sir do you think Om Kapoor (Shah Rukh’s character’s name) will win this year? He replies with a poker face – Om Kapoor, who?” the khabroo further elaborates, “Saying so he immediately walks away.”

Even as the alleged cold war between the ageing and reigning superstars of Hindi Cinema continues, OSO director, Farah Khan needs to be complimented for managing to use it to her advantage with her trademark cheekiness.

There is a song in the film, Deewangi Deewangi that has 31 top Bollywood names right from Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt to Subhash Ghai and Dharmendra dancing along with SRK. Senior Bachchan doesn’t feature in it though.

On the eve of her Lucky Charm aka Kismet Connection shoot in Toronoto, Canada Vidya Balan would double check her dresses for the next day in front of a select few crew members every time. Before you jump to conclusions let’s find out why and how!

A unit member reveals to us, “Every evening after the day’s shoot, the Bhool Bhulaiyaa starlet would invite a few select crew members of her film in her room. Then she would take out all the dresses given to her by the film’s designer. Depending on the scene she was required to shoot for the next day, she would try out all the dresses one by one, much to the amusement of all present. At the end of it, she would select the dress which would get a unanimous thumbs up from all present as one for the next day’s shoot,” adds the unit member. (Read the article)

Rohit Roy has completed his first film — a short story called RICE PLATE in DUS KAHANIYAAN — and he’s ready to embark on his next directorial venture, a film based on love, lust and relationships in Mumbai. “It’s a slice of life film, revolving around people living in a metropolis,” states Rohit.

Rohit’s wife, Mansi Joshi Roy’s production company, will produce the film with Sanjay Gupta’s White Feather Films. “Sanjay has been extremely supportive. Manasi has been the executive producer on three out of ten stories in DUS KAHANIYAAN and is all ready to take the big plunge,” adds Rohit The casting of the film is still undecided.

Meanwhile, Rohit awaits the response to his work in DUS KAHANIYAAN. Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi feature in RICE PLATE.

Has Saif Ali Khan shown director Sriram Raghavan the door, after JOHNNY GADDAAR proved a failure at the box-office? Reportedly, Imtiaz Ali has been roped in to direct the desi James Bond film AGENT VINOD, which Saif is producing. That’s what a section of the media would like us to believe.

“Absolutely false,” Sriram sets the record straight, “Saif hasn’t shown me the door. I was with Dinesh Vijan [Saif’s partner in production] yesterday. We’re still in the scripting stages. There’s no question of either walking out or being thrown out of the film. I would’ve taken it [the exit] in my stride, if true. But the fact remains that it’s completely false.”

The talented storyteller continues in the same breath, “I read somewhere that Imtiaz [Ali] has been roped in to direct AGENT VINOD. That’s not true again. May be he’s directing another film for Saif. I must add, I saw JAB WE MET today and really liked Imtiaz’s work in the film. He’s good.” (Read the article)
